All major works (Cut and removal of concrete panels and installation of PFC around opening) were completed on the weekend to avoid any hindrance to operation of factory. A fire and engineers certificate verifying all works comply with Australian standards and BCA requirements were issued upon completion of job.

The doors are capable of a fire resistance level of 1,2,3 and 4 hours, depending on application.

In order for the doors to activate in a fire, a mechanism to close the doors independently is required.

This would be a Magnetic hold open device or Fusible link

Local council regulations, required door application and door price determines which hold open device is necessary.

Sliding fire doors can be fixed to the wall (side fixed) or soffit fixed (fixed to the ceiling). Doors should overlap opening by 100mm, therefore care should be taken to allow suitable distance above the head of the opening to allow for the required track.
